“Would you ever stop supporting your favourite team?”

“Would you ever stop supporting your favourite team?”

An interesting counter-argument  to my “I’m Leaving Leafs’ Nation”.  I definitely see where the author, Chris McHugh, is coming from.  I’m not anti-Leafs, I’m anti-MLSE (and Stavro and Ballard).  I’m leaving not because I want to, but because I feel I have to; because ownership sees the fan base not as a resource or as partners, but as a source of cash flow to be tapped into and maximized.

Hockey debates are always a blast, and this is no exception.  I love reading well-reasoned arguments on both sides of any issues, even (and often especially) if the points run counter to my own.  Check it out, it’s an interesting post.

  1. “I’m not anti-Leafs, I’m anti-MLSE (and Stavro and Ballard)” – exactly. These owners have just fleeced the fans. I’ve long moved on to other, better run teams with soul.

    • I hear you; although it’s nice to see (price gouging aside) at least some of the right steps being taken. And they have gotten rid of a lot of the “Blue and White” disease that has been such a big problem since the lockout.
